Dromomania

Dromomania, also travelling fugue, is an uncontrollable psychological urge to wander. People with this condition spontaneously depart from their routine, travel long distances and take up different identities and occupations. Months may pass before they return to their former identities. The term comes from the Greek: dromos (running) and mania (insanity).

This is us dromomaniacs... Living in boxes, out of backpacks but always traveling with the world as our home. To suffer permanent homesickness to places we have never been....

Blog Essentials

This is for all of us who share this feeling of dromomania. This ever not being that connected, feeling this kind of lost that makes us wander and search for new experiences. For those feeling locked up in 'back office' jobs always curious to the things yet to be undiscovered. Those of us who often want to be the other that is in our view free of all commitments but maybe a slave to some kind of insanity of being 'thuisloos' which is not to be translated as homeless. The wandering soul will always be with someone else, in a different space and time, another dimension, who feels forced to go left or right like a marionette, like this life they live is not one of theirs. I invite people to reply on posts, share their experience and write along.
